STRATEGIC PLANNING COMMITTEE
The Strategic Planning Committee is a group of citizens, district employees, board members and students who meet regularly to assemble the Strategic Plan for the district, submit recommendations to the Board of Education for approval, and promote and communicate the implementation of the Annual Objectives.
New committee members are recommended by the outgoing members. Membership begins with the pre-meeting for the annual planning retreat, and concludes with the following year’s annual planning retreat. Attendance at the planning retreat and committee meetings is required.
The responsibilities of the committee include: reviewing and revising the district’s vision, mission and values and forwarding these recommendations to the Board for approval; gathering supporting information submitted from various areas to identify strengths, weaknesses, critical issues and potential opportunities; updating the assumptions; developing the goals and annual objectives; assembling the Strategic Plan Brochure and submitting it to the Board for review and approval; communicating the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan; monitoring implementation of the Strategic Plan after approval by the Board; evaluating and making the appropriate recommendations for the planning process, schedule and organization; and increasing involvement in the strategic planning process.
