Pat McGee Endowment Scholarship
A scholarship fund
created in memory of former State Senator Pat McGee will begin issuing
awards this year. Established at the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation
by family and friends of Senator McGee, the Pat McGee Endowment seeks to
carry on the Senator’s mission of improving life in the Southern Tier.
Monetary Award:
two $1,000 scholarships will be available to students in Senate district 57
who intend to pursue nursing, at any school, through the Community
Foundation.
Eligibility:
The 57th district includes Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties as
well as Groveland, Mount Morris , North
Dansville, Nunda, Ossian, Portage, Sparta and West Sparta . This award is
available to both traditional and non-traditional students. Students must
maintain at least a C average in order to be eligible for this award.

The Caring
Profession Award is in memory of Byson Frank and is a yearly award in the
amount of $500.00 (cash award) for a Salamanca Central High School Senior

criteria for selection will be based on the 6 traits that best exemplify
the life and spirit of Kyle. They are: character, compassion, sincerity,

think they would be deserving of this

Student Integrity Scholarship
The Better Business
Bureau “Student of Integrity Award” recognizes a college bound student in
their senior year of High School who exemplifies the Bureau’s standards of
ethics and integrity. It is open to High School Seniors who plan to attend
an accredited college or university in the Fall of 2008.
Monetary awards:
Two students who
reside in the Upstate NY area will each receive a $1000 scholarship.
Definition of
Ethics: the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral
duty and obligation
To Apply:
1. Please fill out the
entry form in its entirety.
2. Answer the
following essay topic: Please describe to us in 500 words or less an
ethical dilemma you
faced and its outcome. (No fictional anecdotes will be accepted)
Procedure
Please submit 6 copies

Scholars awards assist students who work part-time and excel academically.
Since 2000, the BURGER KING® Scholars Program has granted more than 11,000
scholarships throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
Monetary awards:
Awards of $1,000
each are sponsored annually by the fundraising efforts of Burger King
Corporation, BURGER KING® franchisees, and our restaurant guests. An
additional 121 BURGER KING® Scholars awards are also granted from the
Foundation endowment to graduating high school seniors.
