STATE OF THE SCHOOL
ADDRESS JANUARY 31, 2008
3 C’s
of Education. Caring, Conviction and Courage.
I
bring this to your attention because without a sense of caring
their can be no sense of unity. We talk about being a caring
person but have we really ever given you the guidelines.
-treat people with kindness and generosity
-Help people each day
-Be sensitive to people’s feelings at all times
-never be mean or hurtful either physically or with words
-Think before you do anything about how your actions will affect
others.
---Always remember we become caring people by doing caring
things.
Don’t be afraid to say to people how much you care of
appreciate them. Always care about doing your best……
“ One small step toward maturity, one giant leap to toward being
a responsible young adult”.
The second C’ we will concentrate on is convictions. Your
values. Be true to yourself. How do you recognize or know your
values?
These are the things that you consider important in your life.
-Is it something that you would stand by even if others made fun
of you for it?
-Does it fit into the vision of who you are? A reminder
Reputation is what you are when people are watching; character
is what you are when no one is looking.
-Know your values and stay true to them. When you think of what
is important
….”Ask not what Seneca School can do for you, Ask what you can
do for Seneca School”.
Take pride in who we are and what we stand for at all times.
The final meaningful thought we can work on is courage. Not so
much for being brave but standing up for what is right, even if
you stand alone.
-It is not caving in to negative thoughts or peer pressure
-Fear of failure does not prevent you from trying new things or
more difficult things
-not being afraid to express yourself because some people might
disapprove
So stand up and don’t ever be afraid of being a caring and a
valued person.
Share a smile---Share a laugh---Share a hug.
Let others know how you feel about them by sharing a positive
thought or gesture.
Be strong and remember this final thought –
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage
to continue that counts”.
Sir Winston Churchill
Always remember...............
"THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE SENECA SCHOOL."
