Olean General Hospital Community Healthcare Traineeship Applicant Information:
Corporations, our Auxiliary and individuals in our Community have generously provided Traineeship which are designed to encourage, reward and assist students in pursuing careers in healthcare with an ultimate goal of providing Olean General Hospital with an excellent and highly skilled workforce.
Eligibility
There are several requirements listed below which must be met. Preference will be given to those residing in the Olean and surrounding communities as well as to present employees of Olean General Hospital who wish to pursue careers in needed areas.
You must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA. Transcripts will be requires to be submitted each semester. A failing grade will result in reassessment of continuation of Traineeship Award. You must be a resident of Olean or the surrounding community (including northern Pennsylvania).
You must be a high school graduate or have earned a GED certificate.
You must complete and submit all financial aid information and aggressively apply for all available funding for which you are qualified.
You receive tuition assistance, you must provide proof of enrollment in a healthcare professions program.
You are required to inform us of any additional forms of assistance you receive .
Any subsequent awards or income may necessitate a revision of your Traineeship Award. This includes any private scholarship or a third party tuition payment/waiver.
You must not be in default of an educational loan or owe repayment on a federal grant.
You must be a citizen of the U.S. or an eligible Non-citizen, (e.g. Resident Alien).
You must agree to an employment obligation in exchange for your Traineeship Award
For every $500.00 received, there will be a requirement to fulfill a 3 month employment obligation at Olean General Hospital. However, this employment obligation will not exceed a two year commitment regardless of the amount of funding received by the recipient.
A Traineeship agreement must be signed detailing the employment obligation requirement. Failure to complete or pass coursework, or failure to meet the employment obligation in its entirety will result in a requirement to pay back the Traineeship Award.
You may be required to work any shift, including nights, evenings and weekends.
Responsibility:
The Olean General Hospital Foundation will be responsible for investment, disbursement and accounting for the funds. The education department will be responsible for developing and overseeing the specific guidelines and policies for each Traineeship as well as the application and review process.
Traineeship Selection Committee:
This committee will be composed of Hospital CEO, Vice President of Nursing, Director of Human Resources, Manager of Education Department, Foundation President and an employee selected on a rotational basis. The committee will meet on the first Monday of every month to review any applications received.
Special Note.:
A JCC faculty member will serve on selection committee for awarding of Traineeship sponsored by the Alcas Cutco Vector Corporation.
Payment of Awards will be paid directly to the College or Program.

ALFRED UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION!!

E. TUPPER WRITING SCHOLARSHIP
All
high school seniors and juniors are encouraged to participate .n the competition
for this scholarship. The first-place winner Till be awarded a scholarship of
$1,000 for each of the four years It Alfred University provided he or she enters
the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and maintains a minimum of 3.0 index
each rear. Should the first, second, or third-place winners apply to Alfred
University, their application fees will be waived. While >only one
scholarship is awarded every year, first, second, and third-place entrants will
receive prizes intended to help them begin their college careers. In addition to
the scholarship, the first-place winner receives a $50 cash award, which can be
used for college textbook purchases. The second and third-place winners receive
books, which will be of value to any entering college freshman. These prizes
will be awarded regardless of whether the winning students decide to enter
Alfred University.
The
procedure for the competition is as follows:
