Mandatory Parent/Athlete Meeting
Before every new sport season begins, there is a mandatory Parent/Athlete Meeting in the Jr./Sr. High School. The athletes cannot practice or participate in a game/meet/match until they attend this meeting and turn in all their completed forms if they did NOT participate in a fall sport. The Spring Parent-Athlete meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 27 at 6 p.m. in the Jr./Sr. High School Large Group Instruction Room (LGI) for any athlete who has not attended a meeting this year. Athletes are reminded that they cannot participate in practices until this requirement has been fulfilled and the paper work has been handed in.
Pre-participation Physical Exam: Any student participating in SCCSD sports programs must pass a doctor’s physical exam in order to participate in competitive sports activities. This physical may be performed either by the student’s own doctor or the school physician. A new physical is required every 13 months. Students who have not had a physical may not participate. This form – CLICK HERE– is a questionnaire which must be filled out by the student and returned to the school nurse before the doctor will do the physical. Concussion Management: A concussion is a serious injury and precautions should be taken to prevent the injury. Cancellations:
When the Salamanca City Central School District is closed due to inclement weather extra-curricular activities are also cancelled. In the event school is closing early due to inclement weather, extra-curricular activities are cancelled as well. Every effort will be made to post such cancellations on the Home Page of this web site as soon as those decisions are made. This information will also be made known to the public through radio and television stations - those links are here.
Salamanca Sports Booster Club:
These parent volunteers provide important support to the athletic program at Salamanca City Central School. Members are asked to lend a hand at functions and help raise money for many worthy projects. For more information, please contact Athletic Director Mr. Christopher Siebert.
