Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program:

If you have a child who will be four years old on or before December 1st of this year, Prospect Elementary School has a program for him/her. UPK offers  half-day sessions focusing on supporting and nurturing the child’s social, emotional, physical (large and small muscle groups), and cognitive development. The classes are taught by certified teachers and certified teacher assistants.

The partnership also provides an opportunity for eligible Head Start students to attend a five-day program at the Salamanca Head Start Facility on River Street. Students seeking admission must also be district residents.

All eligible students are admitted and if we exceed capcity program acceptance is determined by a lottery system. Registration packets are available from the Prospect School office as of April 1 each year. If your child is age eligible for Kindergarten, but you have concerns about readiness for Kindergarten, we would like to talk to you about our Transitional Kindergarten program.
