What's Happening?

We have begun Unit 6 Our Country and Its People.  This unit has great stories about the many different people and cultures that live in the United States of America.

Your young scholar has learned to be more confident and can write complete sentences in response to reading!  Unit 6 has wonderful stories about different cultures, immigration, and our country.  We will discuss immigration, learn more about America, and be thankful we have Freedom!

FIELD TRIP- Thursday, June 12th Midway Park  Buses depart @ 9:00 am!

        Reminder:

Please make sure your child's agenda goes to school with them and comes home with them on a daily basis.

SECOND GRADE SUPPLIES for 2007-2008

These supplies are necessary for the first day of school:

1 package of 10 #2 pencils

1package 150-200 notebook paper (wide ruled)

1 pencil supply box (6" x 9")

bullet

1 large glue stick

bullet

2 low odor dry erase markers (blue or black)

bullet

1 clean sock to erase whiteboards

bullet

2 highlighters

bullet

1 ruler (inches & centimeters)

bullet

1 large eraser

bullet

1 box crayons (16-24)

bullet

1 clear 9 oz. water bottle (no larger) optional

bullet

1 backpack

bullet

2 boxes of Kleenex

bullet

1 box quart size Ziplock storage bags

bullet

1 package of 3 X 5 index cards

bullet

1 pair of scissors (Fiskars are best)

bullet

1 marble composition book

 

Please label each of your child's belongings with a permanent marker.
