Fourth Grade Community Service Project
Earlier this year Seneca School fourth graders had the opportunity to visit the Salamanca Area Historical Society & Museum. They had a wonderful time, and many of the students found out some really cool things about the City of Salamanca that they never knew.
As part of the fourth grade community service project for the year, the students held a grade level penny drive to raise money for the Historical Society & Museum. No admission fee is charged at the museum, so donations are always appreciated. The Seneca School staff also chipped in and donated the money raised from a building “Dress-Down Day.” A total of $236 was collected in one week.
The funds raised were donated to the Salamanca Historical Society & Museum on April 23, 2013 with all the 4th grade students present as Mrs. Cathy Lacy, President of the institution’s Board, accepted the donation. We are very proud of all of the students and staff who took part in giving back to this wonderful museum. We look forward to future field trips to this unique local attraction.
