ABCya! is a great resources for students up to 5th grade. This website has many games to help students with their reading strategies and skills:
International Children's Digital Library is a website that contains books about subjects and regions from around the world. Students are able to read books that teach them about the world. This is a great independent reading site.
Here are some awesome free apps for iPads and smartphones! They are some of the best free apps available.
Epic!- Unlimited Books for Kids
This app is similar to an iBooks for Audible audio books, but all of the books are appropriate for middle school students!
Reading Comprehension Prep
This app is awesome because the comprehension questions are aligned with the Common Core. It has books and passages that ask comprehension questions along the way.
Elevate-Brain Training and Games
This app helps students improve their memory, reading comprehension, and writing. The app has games that requires students to recall information as fast as they can. Memory and rapid recall are qualities that lead to a great reader!
