Hello! My name is Carrie Fidurko, and I have recently started working as a Family School Liaison with the district. Beginning this year, the district will be assigning a liaison to all Native American district students and their families. My role is to link students to services that could assist them with being successful in the school setting, to provide support to students and families if needed, and to strengthen the bond between families and the school district. I can work with students in the school, community, and home settings, and can be an advocate when immediate needs arise.
I graduated from Salamanca High School, and have lived in this community most of my life. Prior to this position, I worked for Cattaraugus County Department of Community Services for 16 years, working as a Case Manager for children. I welcomed the opportunity to be able to work within the school district because of my strong ties to the community and desire to help students be successful in the school setting. I feel that students and families should have a voice in a student's education, My goal is to help students and families feel that their voices will be heard and to help overcome any barriers that may impact their education.
