· Use a number word.Example: During the 1800s, the development of railroads helped to industrialize the United States in three ways.
· List main points.Example: During the 1800s, the development of railroads helped to industrialize the United States by allowing materials andgoods to be more easily transported, allowing people to travel between industrial centers more quickly, and decreasing the cost of products.
· Make a claim.
Example: The development of railroads during the 1800s was the single most important event that led to the industrialization of United States.
