Student Maple Tapping

3rd graders observed our annual Sugar Maple tree tapping demonstration with Chris Jimerson aka “Bundy” or as the kids like to call him, the Lorax. Mr. Jimerson is the Forest Manager for the Seneca Nation Conservation Department.  This is the 3rd year Seneca Nation Conservation has collaborated with the Seneca Language and Culture teacher, Brooke Kennedy, and the Native American Curriculum team to bring our students this land-based learning experience.

With the recent school calendar changes, our Maple syrup boiling has been rescheduled for Thursday 3/28. All of 3rd and 5th grade will be attending boil day. The ground may be wet and muddy, it may or may not rain, and it could be cold. We ask that students come prepared for early spring weather. 😊
