UPK K Registration

Prospect Elementary School has announced that enrollment is now open for the 2026–2027 Universal Pre-K (UPK) and Kindergarten school year, welcoming district families to begin the registration process for their young learners.

The Universal Pre-K (UPK) program is open to children who will be 4 years old on or before December 1, 2026, and is available to district residents. Families may choose between full-day and half-day options, with the full-day program following the Prospect Elementary School schedule and including breakfast and lunch. In accordance with New York State Education Department (NYSED) guidelines, all UPK applicants who complete registration by April 22, 2026, will be entered into a required lottery system. Students selected through the lottery will be scheduled for a UPK screening in May 2026.

Registration is also open for Kindergarten, which is available to district residents’ children who will be 5 years old on or before December 1, 2026. The full-day Kindergarten program follows the Prospect schedule and includes breakfast and lunch. Families with children currently enrolled in the Prospect UPK program do not need to complete a new Kindergarten registration; instead, they are asked to log into the Parent Portal to update any contact or address information.

The district strongly encourages families to register online by completing the Quick Registration Questionnaire available at
www.salamancany.org/upk-k-registration. Once submitted, a member of the Central Registration Office will follow up with next steps.

Families who need assistance or have questions about the registration process may contact the Central Registration Office at 716-945-5142 or via email at Registration@salamancany.org. Parents are also reminded to check their SPAM or Junk email folders to ensure important messages from PowerSchool or Salamanca Registration are received.

District officials encourage families to begin the process early to ensure their child’s place for the upcoming school year and take advantage of these early learning opportunities at Prospect Elementary School.
