On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, eligible voters of the Salamanca City Central School District will elect one member to serve on the Board of Education.
The candidate receiving the highest number of votes will fill a five-year term beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2031.

Candidate Qualifications and Petition Requirements
To qualify as a candidate for the Board of Education, an individual must:
Be a qualified voter of the district
Be a resident of the district for at least one year immediately prior to May 19, 2026
In addition, each candidate must file a nominating petition with the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Petitions must include the signature and legal address of at least 100 qualified voters residing in the district.
Voter Qualifications
A qualified voter must:
Be a United States citizen
Be at least 18 years of age
Have resided in the district for at least 30 days immediately prior to the election
Have their current address:
Correctly filed with the Cattaraugus County Board of Elections in Little Valley,
Documented on the Seneca Nation Tribal Roll, or
Properly registered at the districtβs Registration Day on April 20, 2026
Native Americans who are properly registered and who reside on the Allegany Reservation in the Steamburg or Coldspring area for at least 30 days prior to the election are eligible to vote in this School Districtβs election, even though the reservation is located outside of the city school district.
