Salamanca City Central School District to begin NWEA testing


Seneca Intermediate: 

Students in grades 4-7 are taking the NWEA assessment in math this week.
• 4th and 5th graders will be taking the assessment during one of their regularly scheduled Zoom times with their teacher.
• 6th and 7th graders had the opportunity to take the assessment on Tuesday. If student’s did not take the test on Tuesday or did not finish the test on Tuesday, they should take it on Thursday at 9:00.

They will be taking the NWEA assessment in ELA next week following the same schedule. It is important to remember that this assessment is not graded, but it will help teachers to know what their students are ready to learn. This online assessment should take between 45 minutes and an hour to complete.

Students should check their teachers’ ClassPages for additional information.

High School students:
Students in 9th grade math will have the opportunity to make up the NWEA math assessment Thursday morning at 9:00am. Any 9th grade student who did not take the assessment on Monday or who still needs to finish the assessment should do so on Thursday at 9:00.

Students in grades 8, 9, and 10 will be taking the NWEA ELA assessment next week.
• 9th Grade is taking it on Monday at 9:00am
• 10th grade is taking it on Monday at 12:30pm
• 8th grade is taking it on Tuesday at 11:00am
Students should talk to their teachers, and check ClassPages for more information.

Prospect Elementary:
Students in grades K-3 will be taking the NWEA assessments in math and ELA over the next three weeks. This assessment is not graded, but it will help teachers to know what their students are ready to learn in math and ELA. It will be incredibly helpful if students have updated their devises ahead of time.
• Grade 3 students will also be taking the NWEA Science on Tuesday December 1st.
• They will be taking the assessment during their regularly scheduled Zoom times with their teacher.
