This past weekend, the Salamanca Wrestling Team wrapped up their season at the Section 6 Sectional Championships at Fredonia State College.
๐ฅ Kasen Hardy battled to a 5th place finish, going 4-2 on the weekend!
๐ช Conner Seeley and Thomas George also secured wins for Salamanca.
With that, the 2023-24 wrestling season comes to a closeโone filled with historic firsts for the program:
๐ฉโ๐ค Girls Team Milestones:

First year with a separate girlsโ competition schedule (6 tournaments, 6 duals).

Earned their first-ever girlsโ dual win, finishing 1-8 overall.

6 girls competed this season, with 3 qualifying for the first-ever NYS sanctioned sectionals.
๐ฅ Maelonnee Bacelli made history as Salamancaโs first NYS sectional place finisher, taking 4th place!
๐คผ Boys Varsity Team Achievements:
๐ Moved up from last place in the league standings to 3rd place, securing 3 league wins.
๐ฅ Finished the season with 6 dual meet victories.
๐ Hosted the first Salamanca wrestling tournament in over 9 years, named in honor of Coach Rich Morton.
๐ช Two wrestlers earned back-to-back 20+ win seasons:
Kasen Hardy (26 wins)
Conner Seeley (23 wins)
๐ Six wrestlers hit double-digit wins, with three more just shy at 9 wins!
