Wild Robot One District One Book

We are excited to announce that this spring our district will be launching One District, One Book—a shared reading experience designed to bring our entire school community together around a single story. This year, students, families, and staff will be reading The Wild Robot by Peter Brown.

Why One District, One Book?
The goal of this initiative is simple: to celebrate the joy of reading. When an entire community reads the same book, it creates meaningful opportunities for connection—sparking conversations in classrooms, around dinner tables, and throughout the community.

This experience is not about tests or quizzes. Instead, it focuses on:

  • Building a love of reading and celebrating literacy in meaningful ways

  • Creating a shared story and common language across our district

  • Bringing students, staff, families, and the community together

📅 Important Dates

  • Reading Window: May 4th – June 5th

  • Districtwide Celebration: Early June

Throughout the reading window, students will engage with the book both at school and at home, encouraging families to read and discuss the story together. This is a special opportunity to slow down, enjoy a great book, and connect as a community.

This is a districtwide literacy initiative, and participation is an expectation for all staff and departments. We are working to incorporate creative connections across the district—from classrooms to transportation, food service, athletics, offices, and community partners. Our goal is to bring the story to life in authentic ways across our schools and community.

We look forward to sharing this exciting reading journey with you—happy reading! 📖✨
