The Salamanca City Central School District thanks all community members who participated in the Annual Budget Vote and Board of Education Election held on May 19, 2026. Voter participation plays an important role in helping shape the future of our schools and ensuring continued support for student programs and district initiatives.
District residents approved the 2026–2027 school budget, with 146 yes votes, 37 no votes, and 3 blank ballots. The approved budget supports the continued operation of educational programs, services, and opportunities for students throughout the district.
Voters also considered Proposition No. 2, authorizing the purchase of an electric school bus and related transportation equipment. The proposition received 59 yes votes, 123 no votes, and 4 blank ballots, and therefore did not pass.
In the Board of Education election, Dale R. Colton was elected to serve a five-year term on the Board of Education beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2031. Colton received 164 votes, while 3 write-in votes were cast.
The district extends its congratulations to Mr. Colton and appreciation to all residents who participated in this year’s vote. Community engagement and support remain vital to the continued success of Salamanca City Central School District and its students.
