As the principal at Seneca Intermediate, I am committed to a standard of excellence both with academic integrity and safety, always placing students as the top priority. My focus is on learning while striving to make sure every student is happy, healthy, and safe. It is my privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers, and students care for each other and work hard to build positive relationships that support academics and social emotional growth. I will continue to work diligently to create a school that is focused on providing quality learning experiences for all students through various curricular and extra-curricular opportunities. Let’s make it another great year in Salamanca, together.

Curriculum

Seneca Intermediate will be using a new reading curriculum this school year. We are excited to have purchased SAVVAS- My View and My Perspectives for our students and look forward to success.  We will continue with Eureka Math2 as our whole group Math curriculum. Student progress will be measured using a variety of classroom-based common assessments. Additionally, all students will be administered the NWEA and IRLA (independent reading level) assessments at multiple points throughout the year to measure growth. Students needing additional intervention services will be given targeted support in Reading and Math. As a building we will also continue to work on the social emotional skills (SEL) that our students need to be successful, both in and outside of school. In addition to regular, whole group SEL and character education lessons new will focus on strengthening relationships, building community, and creating a more positive school climate.

Attendance

Attendance is an essential component of a student’s academic success. Please make sure your child attends school daily on time. As a parent or guardian, you can prepare your child for a lifetime of success by making regular school attendance a priority. If your child is absent from school, please call our attendance officer at (716) 945-5140 ext. 5243. When your child returns to school, please send in an excuse.  Our district attendance policy can be found on our website.
