The Indigenous Youth Council is proud to announce a special T-shirt and sweatshirt sale to raise awareness about MMIP – Murdered and Missing Indigenous People. This meaningful initiative not only supports awareness efforts but also highlights student creativity and community collaboration.

For this sale, the council has partnered with Chill Creations, a local Indigenous business owned by Gina Hill, to host an online store featuring apparel designed by two talented students, Makenzie Crouse and Joella Jimerson. Their designs help share an important message while uplifting Indigenous voices and artistry.

The online store is open now and will run through March 23, 2026. Community members are encouraged to participate and show their support by purchasing items that help spark conversation and awareness around this critical issue.

The official day recognizing Murdered and Missing Indigenous People (MMIP) is May 5. In honor of this day, Seneca Intermediate School and the High School will hold assemblies on May 8 to remember those who have gone missing or been murdered. These assemblies will provide opportunities for reflection, education, and solidarity.

MMIP is a deeply important issue across Indigenous communities. Through the apparel sale, school assemblies, announcements, and social media outreach, the Indigenous Youth Council hopes to educate both the school community and the broader public while honoring those affected.

The Indigenous Youth Council sincerely appreciates the continued support from the community in helping bring awareness to this important cause.
