pumpkin decorating contest

Thanks to the Kiwannis Club of Salamanca, Seneca Intermediate 4th and 5th graders had the opportunity to participate in a pumpkin decorating contest in October.

With many students learning from home the challenge was how to get the submissions. Art teacher, Amy Witman, decided to use an online bulletin board style platform called Padlet. This virtual sharing platform allowed students to easily photograph their work and submit in a way so others could view and vote.

The students and teachers had a lot of fun looking at the amazing work of our students. All said that choosing the winning designs were a difficult task.

1st Place Winners were: Brennan Hill, Reagan Brown, Aiden George, and Zayivious Hope, with many others earning “honorable mentions”.

“To me, this wasn’t about winning a prize,” Mrs. Witman said. “It was about kids just having fun, being creative, and sharing their work with others. The students had some really unique and creative  ideas! I am so thankful to the Kiwannis Club and Mrs. Beaver for making this possible for our students!”
