Hello Warriors,

The 20-21 school year is about to begin.  On September 1st, ALL students, grades 8-12 will be participating in a Class Pages Scavenger Hunt.  This exercise will familiarize the students with our primary delivery of instruction for E-learning.

Beginning September 2nd, the teachers will be posting their lessons to their student’s class pages.  The lessons can be completed anytime during the day.  This is a feature that provides flexibility for students who will have other responsibilities.  Each teacher will also have office hours set throughout the day.  These will be posted to class pages.  Office hours are meant to provide additional help and individualized support to any and all students.  School attendance will be awarded when students access the lessons on class pages and/or attend office hours.

Our CTE program at BOCES and our Big Picture program both start on September 8th.  Big Picture students and BOCES students will be picked up at their homes and taken directly to their program.  We will be calling all students that take part in these programs the week of September 1st with the times of their pickup. 

Beginning on September 14th the High School will begin their E-learning hub on the High School Campus.  We have about 130 students who have expressed an interest in this option.  This opportunity will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and will run from about 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM.  We will be calling the students who expressed an interest the week of September 1st to develop a schedule.

Accessing ClassPages / PowerSchool

The Salamanca City Central School District has invested in the use of ClassPages - PowerSchool and will be the main means of communication and learning for ALL students in the District.

Every morning your child will need to attend their Homeroom Huddle—please see your child’s Homeroom Huddle time below.  You can access the Homeroom Huddle through ClassPages.  After their Homeroom Huddle your child will have several things they need to get done to get all of their academic work.  The grade level team has created a ClassPage that has everything your child needs to access their learning.  There will be videos of lessons for the day, assignments, specials and much more.  It is critical that your child get their daily academic work complete. 

On Wednesdays there will be no ELA, Math or Science & Social Studies time.  Your child’s teacher will have office hours on Wednesdays for any support needed.
