Our high school Forensic Science class is learning lab techniques and gaining hands on experience on how "Blood Spatter Analysis" and "Chromatography" can be used to solve crimes and identify substances.
Students dropped "blood" from different distances then measured and analyzed the spatter shape and size to determine patterns and make predictions. They also examined the relationship between height and velocity as well as height and blood drop diameter using models they created (graphs).
Students compared the dyes in Skittles to the dyes in M&Ms. Using chromatography (a separation technique), they found differences in the green colored candies. Read the ingredient labels to see if you can determine the differences!
