THE SALAMANCA BUSINESS DEPARTMENT CTE'S OPPORTUNITIES

CTE poster

Why CTE?

The Career and Technical Education endorsement is New York State recognition of successful completion of career-based courses.

The student’s diploma will contain a technical endorsement and be considered a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation.

Within our business department this is the 3rd CTE that we have created and implemented since 2008. It takes approximately 1.5 to 2 years to complete a CTE and get state approval.

The case is this: in order for students to succeed, we need to prepare them for the ever-changing world of work, which means not only college readiness, but career readiness—students with access to postsecondary education and skills attainment possibilities that will prepare them to achieve in the 21st century.

CTE offers a unique opportunity to engage students in an enormous variety of subjects, incorporating academic, creative and technical skills, with the specific goal, nowhere else represented in education, of preparing students for all of life that comes after high school. -Washington State CTE
