Andrew with 3D Printing

Salamanca high school student Andrew McCormick, from Mr. Howard’s Technology classes, recently completed an impressive design and manufacturing project that combined creativity, engineering, and school spirit.

Using Autodesk Inventor, Andrew created a collection of Salamanca-themed coaster designs and then transformed those digital concepts into physical products using the district’s new Bambu 3D printer. This advanced printer allows for production-quality prints with up to four colors in a single design.

Throughout the process, multiple prototypes and color combinations were developed and evaluated. Feedback was gathered from several individuals to help select the final three coaster designsβ€”ensuring the finished products reflected both strong visual appeal and Salamanca pride.

The completed coasters are more than functional itemsβ€”they represent the exciting opportunities students have to apply real-world skills in computer-aided design (CAD), additive manufacturing, problem-solving, and product development.

Projects like this showcase how advanced technology in the classroom is helping prepare students for future careers while encouraging creativity and innovation.

Great work, Andrew, and thank you to Mr. Howard for continuing to create meaningful hands-on learning experiences!
