Margaret βMickieβ Deppen retired from Salamanca City Central School District in October after nearly 30 years of service at the elementary and intermediate schools.
She started as a substitute teacherβs aide before becoming a teacherβs assistant. In recent years, she helped with computers and technology at Seneca Intermediate.
βItβs been a great run but nowβs the time for me to move on to a new chapter of my life,β she wrote in an email to colleagues. βIβll surely miss the camaraderie Iβve felt being a part of the Seneca School community for the past 27 years!β
Superintendent Robert Breidenstein thanked Deppen for her dedication to the district.
βMickie is a wonderful, amazing person,β he said. βSheβs kind. Sheβs hard working. Sheβs collegial with everyone. She has a kind word for everyone. Sheβs very patient with adults and students who may need some TLC with computers and anything in general. We wish Mickie the best as she moves onto the next chapter of her life.β
